It is extremely hard to make a good movie both about ultra running and modern day spirituality, but to combine them in a single project is really challenging. I've seen Sanjay Rawall's earlier works and I really liked them, but I was quite curious how will he manage this one, especially that this is quite a long movie.
Well, the events covered(the hunt in Africa may be an exception) are not really action packed - a bunch of determined runners circling around a New York suburb block (on concrete pavement) or a Japanese Buddhist monk circling a holly mountain for one thousand days, while immersed in prayer. Still by forging the different stories together it became quite a dynamic visual feast.
The movie is really beautifully shot and it gives it subtle, dignified feeling.
If you are interested in the topics and feel a bit low or just need some inspiration to go on with the projects of your life this movie will definitely give you a big inspirational lift.

When asked, Lloyd cannot remember anything afterwards and the doctor does not know what caused the injury on his right arm; it is only known that his blood is not clotting from the wound and he cannot feel anything on his right side. While Keloid transfers him to Montreal General Hospital for further evaluation, his experimental procedures on Rose have caused a mutation in her body that made her able to only subsist on human blood. A new organ resembling a red phallic stinger emerges from a small orifice below Rose's armpit, which pierces her victims and draws their blood. One night, Rose leaves the clinic to feed upon a nearby cow's blood which makes her vomit. A drunken farmer tries to attack her, but she pierces and feeds on him before calling Hart to pick her up. The next day, the farmer turns into a pale zombie -like monster and attacks a waitress at a nearby diner. Lloyd discharges himself from the clinic. While taking a taxi to the airport, he begins foaming at the mouth and attacks the driver. The car crashes into the freeway before a nearby truck totals them both. At the clinic, Keloid is infected by Rose's stinger and attacks from within, which causes panic. During this time, Rose escapes from the hospital despite calling Hart to come to her aid, and hitchhikes rides from various people to Montreal. He calls Rose's friend Mindy and asks her to keep Rose in her apartment if she appears until he can come over. Rose arrives in the city and stays in Mindy's apartment. While Mindy watches a television broadcast detailing a new strain of rabies now all over Montreal, Rose goes to a sex cinema and infects a leering patron. LePointe, while riding a limousine with local health officials, is attacked by two infected crewmen who use a jackhammer through the vehicle door and drag the driver out to feed on him. The other official and LePointe, forced to leave their driver behind, escape by driving in reverse. With the infection becoming worse in the city, and the standard rabies treatment having no effect, Dr. Royce Gentry advises a shoot-to-kill policy to prevent future infections. Extreme martial law is declared within Montreal, and the doctor works on developing a cure. National Guard road blocks are set to check for infected people, and a convoy of NBC -suited soldiers ride into the city to assist the authorities with body disposal. Murray and Hart arrive at the former's home and as Hart drives away in Murray's car, Murray calls for his wife, but there is no answer. Murray wanders into his baby's nursery where he finds what is left of his baby and is attacked by his infected wife. Hart goes into the deserted city to search for Rose. An infected civilian jumps onto Hart's car before being shot, and the bio-warfare suited soldiers spray disinfectant on his car before permitting him to continue driving. Mindy watches a report which says that a possible carrier of the infection may be immune and has been traced back to the Keloid Clinic. Rose walks into the room and feeds on Mindy. Hart finds Rose in the act and tries to reason with her about treatment, but she refuses to believe him and is in denial that she is responsible for the epidemic that has now claimed many people. He chases her in the apartment, but he is rendered unconscious and she infects a man waiting in the apartment lobby. When Hart awakens, Rose brings the newly infected man to his apartment and locks herself inside the room before calling Hart about her plan; she wants to test Hart's accusation and see if the man turns infected or not. While Hart frantically tells her to leave the apartment and hopelessly sits at the receiver, the infected man awakens and attacks Rose. The next morning, Rose's corpse is found by the bio-ware suited soldiers in an alleyway and they dump her in a garbage truck. Spacek's film Carrie was released during this film's production and proved to be a massive hit (and a movie poster for the film appears when the main character walks by a movie theater). The Ravens are really gonna turn into the NFLs Dodgers Yesterday pained me so much. I'm not the biggest fan of remakes or reimaginings but i wanted to watch a movie in the evening and i thought let's give Rabid a chance, since it's based on the work of Cronenberg. I thought it was really well made for the first 45 minutes, i thought it was going to be an arthouse movie since they focused so much on the main character (and her struggle) who suffers from facial deformity which was caused by an accident. And then came the moment where they came up with a great scene which definitely pays tribute to Cronenberg's Dead Ringers, which is one of my favorite scenes from Rabid. After that the movie slowly turns into mediocrity, i love horror but i didn't expected that they would ruin the second half of the movie by turning it into a zombie movie. A real turn off if you ask me, any work of Cronenberg doesn't deserve to be treated like this. There were a few interesting points towards the end but it doesn't save the movie as a whole, what a shame.

Que es un blog ???

Un blog, o en español también una bitácora, es un sitio web periódicamente actualizado que recopila cronológicamente textos o artículos de uno o varios autores, apareciendo primero el más reciente, donde el autor conserva siempre la libertad de dejar publicado lo que crea pertinente. El nombre bitácora está basado en los cuadernos de bitácora, cuadernos de viaje que se utilizaban en los barcos para relatar el desarrollo del viaje y que se guardaban en la bitácora. Aunque el nombre se ha popularizado en los últimos años a raíz de su utilización en diferentes ámbitos, el cuaderno de trabajo o bitácora ha sido utilizado desde siempre.

Este término inglés blog o weblog proviene de las palabras web y log (’log’ en inglés = diario). El término bitácora, en referencia a los antiguos cuadernos de bitácora de los barcos, se utiliza preferentemente cuando el autor escribe sobre su vida propia como si fuese un diario, pero publicado en la web (en línea).

 

 

Caracteristicas de un blog

a) El blog puede ser personal, tematico o empresarial, fotoblog, audioblog, y lo mas nuevo, blogs para telefonos celulares.

b) El blog puede ser gratuito o impulsado por un programa especial y con tus propios recursos, en donde tienes que comprar dominio y hospedaje para el blog. Tienes muchas mas ventajas de esta forma. Si tu blog es empresarial, puedes inclusive manejar hasta un blog multiusuario, en donde varios editores pueden estar en cualquier parte del mundo usando el programa al mismo tiempo en la red para publicar información especializada en diferentes categorías.

c) La información está clasificada por fecha, categorias y etiquetas. Generalmente en el blog aparecerá tu último articulo al principio y se irán acomodando en orden cronológico a medida que se vayan publicando. Puedes organizar tus articulos por categorias. Por ejemplo, si el tema de tu blog es de Autos, puedes publicar articulos y agruparlos por marcas de autos. Y las etiquetas son para identificar aquellas publicaciones que contienen ciertas “palabras clave”, una etiqueta podria ser por ejemplo el modelo, color o tipo de vehículo.

d) En tu blog puedes tener “Enlaces” hacia sitios que tengan o no relación con la temática de tu blog, Puedes tener publicidad y generar Ingresos con las diferentes herramientas que existen actualmente en Internet.

e) Sindicacion. ¿Qué es esto? Proviene del termino en ingles “RSS” Really Simple Syndication, que traducido al español sería algo como “Sindicacion realmente simple”. Y no es mas que una manera sencilla de difundir o propagar a los suscriptores del blog el contenido que es constantemente actualizado.

f) Una de las mejores caracteristicas de un blog, es que no necesitas tener conocimientos avanzados o técnicos en cuestión de Internet, programación o computación. Puedes tener tu blog en tan solo 5 minutos y de forma gratuita.

g) Y una de las mejores caracteristicas de un blog es que Tú eres el editor. Tú decides que publicar, no necesitas pedir permiso a nadie, como seria en el caso de un periodico, revista o noticiero. Pero si tu blog es gratuito, tendrás que apegarte a los lineamientos que te exija la compañia que te brinda el servicio, de otra manera te pueden borrar de su sistema.

 

¿Cómo hacer para que un blog tenga exito?

Puedes cambiar facilmente la “apariencia” de tu blog. Con los llamados temas o “skins” para darle un toque personal y único a tu blog para que te distingan mas fácilmente en la red de los otros blogs existentes.

Puedes agregar diferentes “plug-ins”. Esto no es mas que pequeños programas adicionales que se instalan en tu blog para que hagan ciertas funciones especificas. Un “plug-in “puede capturar “spam”. Cuando tienes un blog, recibirás muchísimo mas “spam” que en tu e-mail. Otro “plug-in” podria llevar estadisticas para ver cuales artículos son los que mas leen o interesan a tus lectores, en fin, hay muchísimos módulos que puedes agregar según tus necesidades o conveniencias.

Debes actualizarlo frecuentemente. Recuerda que es un diálogo entre Tú y los lectores. Responde los comentarios y publica nueva información. Entre más frecuentes sean tus respuestas y articulos, tendrás mejores beneficios, ya que la gente sabrá que es un sitio al que hay que frecuentar. Además, al hacer esto, los motores de búsqueda visitarán también mas frecuentemente tu blog dándote mayores beneficios, ya que tu contenido aparecerá también más rápidamente en sus indices atrayendo mas lectores a tu blog.

Haz “PING” a los directorios y buscadores. ¿Qué es hacer PING en un blog? El “ping“, es simplemente dar un aviso a los directorios y buscadores de que acabas de publicar nuevo contenido. Cada Blog tiene una forma diferente de hacer PING. En algunos blogs se hace automaticamente cada vez que publicas un articulo, previamente indicas a quien se hace el “ping”, en otros casos lo tienes que hacer manualmente.

El exito no es automático. Puedes recibir visitantes desde el primer dia del registro de tu blog, pero ten paciencia, tendrán que transcurrir varios meses antes de que empieces a tener un volumen considerable de visitantes y lectores.

NO es necesario registrar tus blogs en los motores de busqueda. Tu blog será encontrado mucho mas rápido de forma automática por los buscadores como Technorati o al haber sido registrado en los directorios para blogs. De esta manera tu blog estará en los indices de los motores de busqueda en menos de 1 semana.
